Interior design of an apartment in the neoclassical style in St. Petersburg
YACHT CLUB | NEOCLASSICISM style 120 m2

concept

Apartment in the residence complex "Imperial Yacht Club" (St. Petersburg). Total area is 120 square meters. Neoclassical style interior.

The "Imperial Yacht Club" prestige already implies elitism. It is located on the island. You can easily find photos on the Internet. This is not a totally suburban facility, but you can’t call it urban either. It has its own quay, yacht marina. This is a kind of atmosphere that we had to take into account in our work.

In such a case, the interior must be elegant, noble, one hundred percent original, and cozy.

For this project performance, our considerable experience and the idea of total uniqueness come in handy. Starting from the wall and floor design during the repairs of a country house (or an apartment), to the smallest decor elements on a chest of drawers, everything is exclusive. In any style.

We singled out the neoclassical style, which comprises traditional solidity and the desire for something new.

The natural materials are the reflection of neoclassicism, they became the basis of this project design.

The walls are made from the best Italy marble. The interior combines dark and light shades, including furniture and textiles. High quality brass is also used for decoration. It highlights the marble structure and forms beautiful associations with the marine atmosphere. As usual for the neoclassical style, the spaces are filled with light.

Originally shaped mirrors, typical of neoclassical style, furniture glass fixing and spot lighting harmonize the windows.

Interior decor items are also performed in the neoclassical spirit: luxurious, but do not give overwhelming impression. Neoclassical features can also be traced in the ceiling design: it’s white smooth surface without additional details.

The area is relatively small. At the same time, the apartment has large open-view windows. In order to make the room even more structured and spacious, we added vertical style. It is everywhere, in the strict furniture forms, in the curtain folds. The vertical style emphasizes textures luxury and gives a feeling of spaciousness in the interior. For the neoclassical style, symmetry is very common. Neo+classics strives for luxurious minimalism in the house.

The rooms and zones are clearly organized, it is also a sign of the neoclassical style, the main style we have chosen. The owner’s secluded leisure area enjoys having a fireplace, which does not spoil the design modesty. Private areas such as bedroom, dressing room and bathroom are combined as much as possible: even the entrance to the bathroom is provided through the dressing room. Without knowing this, one cannot even assume that there is a “two-room area” behind the dressing room door.

Neo, or neoclassical style, gives space for the game. Take a closer look to the carpets, they visually repeat the marble structure. Some metallized furniture surfaces, which also reflected the modern neoclassical tradition, also worth mentioning.
